Senior School (Years 10 - 12)
Welcome to the Senior School
St Edmund’s College is dedicated to fulfilling its academic mission by delivering high-quality teaching across core disciplines, the sciences, cultural studies, the humanities, and the creative arts.
The College places strong emphasis on curriculum continuity from Middle School through to Senior School. From Year 7 to Year 10, students engage in a structured academic programme aligned with the Australian Curriculum, including core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Physical Education. This foundational curriculum equips students with the knowledge and skills required to meet the challenges of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) senior syllabuses.
In Years 11 and 12, students are supported in designing a course of study that reflects the principles of academic breadth, personal fulfilment, and alignment with tertiary entrance requirements.
St Edmund’s College remains committed to a discipline-based curriculum that promotes both breadth and depth of knowledge, alongside the development of critical and higher-order thinking. Our pedagogical approach draws on the best of traditional teaching practices, while embracing innovation to ensure dynamic and engaging learning experiences.
In the spirit of reconciliation, St Edmund’s College acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
